Hemel have captured the signature of experienced forward Dom Maloney.

Maloney, 26, has played in Super League for Hull FC as well as more recent stints at Halifax and Featherstone.

The Castleford-born prop came through the ranks at his home town club, and after leaving the Tigers in 2006, he went on to make 46 appearances for Dewsbury before joining the Airlie Birds.

Stags head coach Troy Perkins is delighted with the signing of Maloney.

“Dom is a great signing for us,” said Perkins.

“We have been looking to sign another prop for a while and to get someone of his quality with Super League experience is massive for us.

“He has played in the Championship with Featherstone and Halifax and been in a professional environment at Hull FC.

“He carries the ball very well and he will be a handful for any defence.

“We are looking for him to pass on his experience to the younger members of our squad especially the props.”
