Whitehaven have signed highly rated forward Callum Rowlandson from Whitehaven RU until the end of the season.
The 6ft 5in teenager, who weighs in at 18 stone, has been on Haven’s radar for some time and Director Karl Connor is delighted to sign the youngster:
“He’s a player with great potential and this is a real coup for the club. He’s very tall and powerful, and quick with a good offload.
“We beat off competition from the likes of Fylde RU Club to get his signature, and other RL teams were interested as well.
“He’s a very highly-valued young man and I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes.”
Callum played a part in Cumbria RU’s County Championship Shield victory against Staffordshire last month, getting on the scoresheet in the process.
Rowlandson is set to make his debut for Whitehaven Under 23’s in the hope he can stake a place for a place in the first team.
