Whitehaven are expected to name Australian Don Gailer as their new Head Coach.

The Championship One outfit were left without a coach when club legend David Seeds stepped down from the position after his first season in charge.

Haven advertised the position and had interest from the both the local area and overseas and are expected to officially announce the capture of North Devils ‘A’ Grade coach Don Gailer tomorrow.

Little is known about the Australian coach, however Haven quickly identified him as the man for the job and offered him the position shortly after the closing date for applications had passed.

Gailer has beaten off stiff competition for the role as fellow Australian and former Castleford and Gateshead coach Dave Woods was one of the 18 applicants that applied for the job.

Gailer will hook up with new Haven Assistant Coach Lee Doran who will continue to play for the club throughout the 2012 season.
