Following the sacking of Brian McDermott, we want to know who you think Leeds should bring in as their new head coach.

It was announced on Monday morning that the Rhinos have sacked coach Brian McDermott with immediate effect.

Rhinos chief executive Gary Hetherington will now begin the search a for a long-term successor for McDermott.

And now the bookmakers are offering odds on the next permanent Leeds coach.

South Sydney Rabbitohs assistant David Furner is the favourite to take over the reins from McDermott, according to Sky Bet.

Leeds legend Rob Burrow has been linked to the role, with him currently coaching the club’s Under-19s outfit.

Jimmy Lowes, who recently left rugby union club Yorkshire Carnegie, has also been rumoured with the head coaching position.

Former Widnes Vikings coach Denis Betts is 5/1 to become Leeds boss, while Castleford Tigers’ Daryl Powell is also priced at 5/1.

Some supporters on social media are suggesting that the Rhinos should offer departing Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane a deal to come into the club from next season onwards.

It was announced two weeks ago that Wane will join Scottish Rugby as high performance coach at the end of the season, but some people think Leeds might be able to talk him out of switching to the 13-aside code.

Current New Zealand Warriors boss Stephen Kearney is in the running, claim Sky Bet. He had an eight-year stint coaching the New Zealand national team as well.
