Have your say: Are mid-season internationals needed?

Drew Darbyshire

There is a lot of talk surrounding England’s mid-season internationals at the moment and we want to know if you think they are needed.

In a brand-new Saturday morning feature, Love Rugby League’s James Gordon and Drew Darbyshire debated the hot topic of mid-season internationals.

England do not currently have a mid-season international scheduled in for 2019 as of yet. They could possibly play France, while New Zealand or Tonga have definitely been ruled out because they pay each other in the international break next year.

Australia obviously won’t be able to play an international because of Origin next year.

A lot of rugby league fans want to see a Celtic XIII face England, with the Great Britain teams being picked on the back of the Test.

Other want to see the Exiles brought back, with the quality of overseas players in Super League being greater than ever.

Some people think there is no need for internationals all together midway through the season, and think they should just be played at the end of the year.

We want to know what you think…
