Hasler’s future uncertain

Two time premiership winning Manly coach Des Hasler could be on his way out of Brookvale after being stood down by the club’s board.

Members say Hasler has been responsible for several ‘serious breaches of contract’, although what they are remains unclear.

In the meantime Hasler has been stood down from his duties.

A statement from the club’s board read in part: “The Board has invited Des to explain his actions, in the meantime he has been stood down.

“We will not be making further comment until after Des has had the chance to respond.”

It emerged last month that Hasler will leave Manly following the 2012 season to take up the head coaching role at Canterbury.

Geoff Tovey had been announced as Hasler’s successor but in recent days the club has been rocked by the departures of recruitment manager Noel Cleal and analyst Will Badel.
