Harvey Livett joins Salford

Salford have continued their recruitment drive with the signing of Warrington back-rower Harvey Livett.

The 23-year-old came through Warrington’s academy and went on to feature in the 2018 Challenge Cup final defeat to Catalans Dragons at Wembley.

Livett spent time on loan at Hull KR in 2019 under former Wolves boss Tony Smith and extended his temporary switch during the 2020 Super League campaign.

Livett joins the likes of Joe Burgess, Matty Costello and Sam Luckley through the door at Salford under new head coach Richard Marshall, who has also appointed Danny Orr as his assistant.

He will link up with Marshall – who coached Livett at youth level at Warrington – at the AJ Bell Stadium on a two-year deal.

“I’m looking forward to getting into pre-season and then proving what I can do on the pitch,” Livett said.

“Speaking to a few of the boys who I know here, this is a great place to be and next year’s going to be a big year for us.

“I worked with Rich before, when I was coming through at Warrington, so I know what he’s about.

“He’s a good coach and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

Marshall said: “He’s an exciting, energetic player, who adds another dimension to our team.

“He has a lot of Super League experience for a player so young, but is still determined to continue his development.”
