Harlequins 24-28 Catalans

James Gordon

An impressive first half performance was enough to see Catalans home against Harlequins at The Stoop.

The French side led 22-6 at the break thanks to tries from Jerome Guisset, Casey McGuire, Clint Greenshields and Olivier Elima, with Jason Golden scoring in reply for Quins.

Guisset added a second after the break, and although Quins rallied late on, it was never going to be enough to deny the Dragons of the points they deserved.

Head Coach Kevin Walters was pleased with his side’s display. He said: “I think it was a fully deserved win. The first half was pretty gritty to be honest.

“We’ve been underperforming until we beat Bradford in the cup last week but that’s two wins in a row for us now and we haven’t had that consistency all year.

“It’s very pleasing from my point of view and particularly for the players as well – they are the ones under the pump.”
