Hardcastle ready for “massive month”

Josh Hardcastle says Featherstone cannot wait to kick-start a big month as they search for vital points to solidify their place in the Championship’s top four.

Sixth-placed Batley visit the LD Nutrition Stadium on Sunday and victory for the Rovers could all but seal their place in the 2017 Qualifiers and a possible chance of promotion.

Following this weekend’s game against the Bulldogs, Featherstone head to Oldham before hosting Halifax and visiting Toulouse.

“If we can win all four games then our place in the top four cannot be lost, but one slip-up and it could all be over,” said Hardcastle.

“It is going to be a massive month for us, one we know could prove pivotal for the club, and we aim to deliver.

“London was tough, and we were frustrated to come away from the game without the two points, but we want to bounce back this week.

“We know we are a strong side and the camp is still full of confidence heading into these decisive few weeks.

“Big players and good teams step up when the going gets tough and that is what we are aiming to do in our next four fixtures.

“Batley have hit some form, winning their last few games against good opposition, and we are wary of the threat they pose.

“If we turn up on Sunday, though, we will have more than enough to deal with the task at hand – and get the points in the bag.”
