Hangover continues for Dugan and Ferguson

test

Canberra Raiders duo Josh Dugan and Blake Ferguson have been dropped after breaching the club’s alcohol policy.

Both players have been stood down for this weekend’s clash with South Sydney Rabbitohs and will have to explain themselves to their teammates.

It is alleged that on Friday Ferguson arrived at training still under the influence of alcohol and that Dugan had also been drinking on the Thursday night.

Coach David Furner explained the decision in a club statement: “It’s an important part of the season for us and we need to make sure everyone in the playing group is 100 per cent committed to the team.

“We needed to make a stand in regards to our discipline and this shows we’re serious about the standards we set for ourselves as a club.”

The Canberra squad has already been on an alcohol ban this season, a 3-week ban was implemented after the Round 7 defeat to Brisbane Broncos.
