Hanbury thrilled to be part of Origin

Widnes Vikings‘ Rhys Hanbury thinks that International Origin is a fantastic concept.

Hanbury, 27, sees the fixture as a reward to Super League‘s crop of overseas players.

He said, “Being a player over here often means that it can be difficult to represent your country, so it’s an honour to be selected in the Exiles final squad.

“It’s always nice to get a pat on the back and when someone’s said ‘hey you played well out there’, it’s a lift to you as a player.”

Hanbury is the Vikings’ sole Exiles representative and he can play as either a full-back or a half-back.
