Leeds star Ryan Hall is set to return to action on Friday, allaying fears he would miss the start of the season.

Rhinos head coach Brian McDermott has named the 23-year-old in a strong squad for the club’s final pre-season friendly against Crusaders tomorrow night.

The England winger injured his leg during last week’s friendly match against Featherstone and was initially ruled out of action for up to four weeks.

“Ryan has been improving every day and the medical staff will have the final decision as to whether to play him on Friday night but we are happy to include him in the line up with the progress he has made so far,” McDermott told the club’s website.

The Rhinos will field a near full strength side for the game and McDermott expects a tough test.

“The guys have been training well and they are looking forward to taking on the Crusaders. Iestyn Harris is putting together a strong team in Wrexham and they had a good win against Catalans last week so we know we will face a tough challenge. We have been working towards this game and this is a vital part of our preparations for the Bulls game,” he said.
