Hall: We’ll have to do it the hard way

Ryan Hall says Leeds need to buck up their ideas against teams near the bottom of the Super League table.

The Rhinos head into Friday’s home fixture against Leigh on the back of a disappointing defeat at Widnes and Hall admits the team needs to improve as they head into their third game in eight days.

“That’s what this week is,” Hall told the Yorkshire Evening Post. “We set off with good intentions at the start of it and we got a great result against Warrington.

“I think we sat back on that – we didn’t take that into the Widnes game and we messed it up, basically. It (playing twice in four days) is just one of those things we have to do.

“We can’t think about it too much, we just have to get on and do it. They are in the same boat as us and they will be coming to Headingley as prepared as we are.

“Every time we come up against teams at the bottom of the league we seem to struggle. Warrington were the first, then Huddersfield and now Widnes.

“Leigh are second from bottom and they will be scrapping for points – desperate for points. We will have to do it the hard way this week.

“We have done some hard things already this year and we’ve got ourselves into a good position. We have to build on that.”
