Halifax trio sign new deals

Halifax have handed new contracts to Craig Ashall, Lee Paterson and Steve Tyrer.

Tyrer, 22, who has played in Super League for St Helens, Salford and Crusaders, and moved to The Shay from Widnes at the end of 2011, has signed a two-year deal, with Ashall and Paterson penning one-year extensions.

Ashall is another former St Helens academy product, and has previously turned out for Swinton and Rochdale in the Championships.

Winger or centre Paterson has been with the club since 2007, but suffered a serious knee injury which cut short his season in 2011.
