Halifax tie Morris down to new contract

Halifax have secured the services of young forward Elliot Morris on a two-year deal.

Other clubs in the Championship and League 1 were believed to be interested in the youngster but Fax have managed to tie him down for another two years.

The deal will see Morris remain at The Shay until the end of the 2019 campaign.

Morris burst onto the scene initially after putting in some sold displays for the club’s reserve side.

The 21-year-old went on to play 30 games in the 2017 campaign, scoring three tries.

And he admitted that he can’t wait to play in front of the Fax fans once more next season.

Morris said: “It’s what I wanted to happen – I’m loving my time here with the lads.

“It’s my second season now and I’m chuffed to be here longer.

“It’s the first real professional club I’ve been at and I’ve loved every bit of it. I’ve never played in front of fans like at Halifax, they bring good numbers and it’s really good to play in front of the crowd. They keep us going even when we aren’t giving them the performance that they want. The fans are class and I’m glad that I can play many more games in front of them.”
