Halifax hand new deal to Ed Barber

Halifax have given back-rower Ed Barber a new two-year deal.

Barber, 29, has scored nine tries in 23 appearances in the 2019 campaign.

Halifax coach Simon Grix commented: “Ed has proven himself this year, he’s probably been one of the shining lights on what has been a forgettable league season for us.

“He’s been really good off the field as well as on.

“He’s found his voice in the changing room which has led him getting stuck into leading the team which is good to see.”

“You’ve seen him play back-row, centre, loose forward, hooker, and even half-back at times in games, being versatile is a positive and I believe we’ve still got a lot more to come from him in the coming seasons.”
