France international Kevin Larroyer has joined Halifax on a one-year contract.

The back-rower was recently granted a release from Leigh Centurions due to the club’s ongoing financial issues.

Larroyer scored nine tries in 26 games for the Centurions in 2018.

On joining Fax, Larroyer said: “I’m delighted, and I can’t wait to get started.

“It’s a real quality club I’m joining here, and I know it’s going to be tough to get a spot in the team but I’m happy and looking forward to the challenge.”

On securing the services of Larroyer, Halifax coach Richard Marshall commented: “He’s been on our radar for a few weeks now.

“Obviously, we had to wait whilst he was still contracted at Leigh, so we didn’t want to approach him whilst all that was going on, but it got settled and we dove straight in.

“He was desperate to come. He knew we had something good here and he’s got some experience and hopefully, he can help bring the other lads on.”

Larroyer has earned 14 caps for France, scoring three tries.
