Dewsbury have signed Halifax half-back Gareth Moore on a deal until the end of the season.

Moore has made four appearances for Halifax this season, having been a regular in the side in 2016.

He joined Halifax from Featherstone in 2015, following two seasons at Post Office Road, and after previously winning a Northern Rail Cup and appearing in a Championship Grand Final during two spells with Batley Bulldogs.

The 27-year-old was a product of the Leeds Rhinos youth development system and made five Super League appearances with Wakefield Trinity in 2011.

Moore is also a Scotland international and a previous winner of the Championship Young Player of the Year Award.

Rams’ chairman Mark Sawyer said: “We’re extremely pleased to have been able to bring Gareth to the club.

“He is our player and an important signing. His arrival will add depth to our creative options at a crucial stage of the season.

“We’ve spoken to Gaz a couple of times in the past and we’re pleased to have been able to finally bring him to the club.

“I’d like thank those whose backing in recent weeks has helped to increase our salary cap and make the signing possible.”
