Guasch fined for referee outburst

Catalans Dragons Chairman Bernard Guasch has been fined £1000 for publicly criticising a match referee, following his impassioned outburst after his team’s recent home defeat to Huddersfield.

An RFL statement reads:

“Mr Guasch was deemed to be in breach of RFL Operational Rule D1.1 (b) (improper conduct); Operational Rule C2.8 (criticism of officials); and the RFL Respect Policy.

“Mr Guasch has also been warned as to his future conduct.

“Mr Guasch has 14 days in which to appeal the decision at an independent RFL Operational Rules Tribunal.”
