Wakefield Trinity have signed Huddersfield fullback Scott Grix who has returned to the club on a two-year deal.

Grix, 32, who previously joined Wakefield in 2008 from Widnes Vikings, has signed a new two-year deal at Trinity which will see him in the red, white and blue jersey until 2019.

The fullback, who started his professional career at Doncaster, will link back up with Trinity after a successful six years at Super League side and local rivals, Huddersfield Giants, where he has amassed 120 appearances and scored 57 tries.

Grix said: “I am excited for a change in my career after spending six years at the Giants.

“It is a great opportunity for me to move back to Wakefield, the club where I made my Super League debut at.

“It will be good to play alongside some of my friends and I am looking forward to working with a young set of coaches.”

Chairman, Michael Carter said: “I am delighted to announce the signing of Scott Grix on a two-year contract. Scott is a true professional who will bring valued leadership qualities both on and off the field.”

Head Coach, Chris Chester said: “It is great that I have been able to bring Scott back to Wakefield. It will give us a bit of competition to the fullback row along with the experience and guidance to help Max Jowitt.”
