Grix ready to right Giants’ recent wrongs

Huddersfield full-back Scott Grix is hoping that his team can end their recent hoodoo in the Super League play-offs in 2016.

Last season, the Giants never really found the fully fluent form of which they are capable, but still managed to finish in the top four of Super League.

Grix wants to use the disappointment of last season to fuel a drive for success in the coming campaign.

“It was disappointing,” he told Love Rugby League.

“Those big games can go either way, and sometimes it’s just one of them, you know.

“But it was more disappointing last year, because we know we’ve been in those situations before and come away thinking, ‘You know what? We probably could have won that.’

“As opposed to holding our hands up and saying, ‘Oh well, we got beat.'”

But Grix is not getting carried way with last year’s frustrations, pointing out that only Leeds really had a season worth shouting about in 2015.

“I think unless you win the Grand Final, though, your season always finishes on a disappointing note,” he said.

“Our season finished as disappointing as everybody else’s, apart from Leeds.

“I’d like to think again, same as we said last year, that now we’ve got a couple more of those games under our belt.

“This time, when we get round to it, we’ll be in as good a position as we can be.”
