Salford players Darrell, Josh and George Griffin, look set to play against Widnes this weekend despite the  death of their father this week.

The three brothers have never appeared together in the Red Devils shirt in a senior game, though they have played in a friendly together.

“Me and my brothers have put our hands up this week to play in memory of him,” Josh Griffin wrote on Twitter.

“He would have wanted us to take that field, he loved watching us play and I’m sure it’s going to be an emotional experience.”

Salford owner Marwan Koukash expressed his admiration for the brothers.

“I have nothing but admiration for the strength and professionalism of the three brothers,” he said.
