Featherstone have signed centre Greg Worthington on a short-term loan deal from Toronto Wolfpack.

Worthington, 29, played for the Rovers from 2011 to 2014, scoring 56 tries in 103 appearances.

He said: “I’m looking forward to joining up with the Rovers once again. The drive here was a bit nostalgic, thinking about the four years I was here previous. Walking into the place. Once again made me excited to lace my boots up and walk out of that tunnel and play in front of these fans once again.

“Obviously I spent a big chunk of my career at the club previously and it’s always had place in my heart so to be able to come back here even if it is on loan is something that I am really looking forward to.”

Worthington joined Toronto ahead of their inaugural season and has played 51 games, recently signing a new contract.

The former Leigh man will join Featherstone for nine games, to help cover for Thomas Minns, who has been sidelined through injury for the first few weeks of the season.
