Green and Minichiello out for season

Hull forwards Chris Green and Mark Minichiello have been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

The pair join Albert Kelly, Marc Sneyd, Jake Connor, Josh Bowden and Joe Westerman on the sidelines for the Airlie Birds, who travel to face Challenge Cup finalists Warrington tonight (Thursday).

Only a win will keep Hull’s remote chances of reaching the top four alive, as their season threatens to peter out.

Coach Lee Radford told the club’s official website: “We’re not going there to lose. We are going there to get a result, ultimately. The 17 blokes playing tonight are full-time professionals and they’re paid to go out there and get a result, irrelevant of who’s missing.

“Once the whistle goes tomorrow, I won’t be concerned which players will be sat in the stands, the supporters won’t be and neither will the Sky Sports commentators.

“It’s all about getting the result and we feel that we’ve got a 17-man squad capable of going there and getting one.”

Hull haven’t won since beaten Widnes 31-24 at the end of June, and have lost six successive games, including the 72-10 hammering at Wakefield.

They have won just two of their last 10 outings and were beaten 30-12 by Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium at the start of that run.
