Melbourne Storm have comfirmed that current Wigan stand-off Blake Green will join them for the 2015 season.

The former Hull KR man has recently stated that he wants to return to his home country to see if he can establish himself in the NRL.

The 27-year-old has inked a two-year deal with the Storm, and he will join up with his new team-mates at the end of the current campaign.

Green was awarded the Harry Sunderland Trophy for Man of the Match in the 2013 Super League Grand Final. He has previously played in the NRL for Canterbury Bulldogs, Parramatta Eels and Cronulla Sharks.

Although he did not have a specific timeframe in mind regarding returning to Australia when he joined Wigan, Green maintains that it was always his plan to develop his skills before joining an NRL outfit.

“I wouldn’t say that I had an exact timeline in mind, but I had a goal to come over here and establish myself as a number 6,” he explained.

“And I suppose to try and build myself a profile, and give myself every opportunity to return to the NRL and have a really good crack at that.

“To get some experience and improve my game a bit more.

“I think that I’ve acheived that, and Wigan’s been a massive part of that.”
