Gower in Parramatta talks

Former Australia international Craig Gower is in talks to make an NRL return with Parramatta this season, according to Rugby League Week.

In a major bombshell,  the rugby union star’s agent Greg Willett says Gower would consider donning the blue and gold in a few weeks – despite previous suggestions he was only contemplating an NRL return next year.

“The Eels have been in contact through a third party and we hope to have talks this week,” Willett tells RLW.

Gower made 238 appearances for Penrith Panthers in an 11 year spell before switching codes to join French rugby union club Bayonne in 2008.

A dual-code international, Gower played 18 tests for the Kangaroos, as well as 13 tests for Italy in the 15-man code.
