Goulding admits feeling strange about Wigan return

Hull KR centre Darrell Goulding faces his former club Wigan at the weekend, as part of the Rovers squad.

After signing for the Robins from Wigan during the close season, Goulding acknowledges that it will feel odd lining up against his former teammates.

“It’s going to be a strange one with me playing there for so long,” he told Rovers Review.

“I’ve got a lot of good mates there and I’ve only ever played against Wigan once before, when I was on loan at Salford earlier in my career.

“I usually keep myself to myself before a game, but I’m sure there’ll be the odd person getting in touch to send a bit of banter my way!

“I’ll take it on the chin for now though and just make sure I give it back to them if we win!

“They’re a good team and the way they play is relentless.

“In defence, we’ve got to be really alert, particularly on the edges.

“Having two weeks to prepare is probably a good things for us though and hopefully we can put in a good performance.”
