Gold Coast Titans have been permitted to return to Queensland ahead of next Saturday’s game against Newcastle Knights.

Justin Holbrook’s side were forced to relocate their round four ‘home’ clash with Canberra Raiders to Sydney’s Netstrata Jubilee Stadium due to the worsening COVID-19 situation in their home state.

However, the Titans can return to the Gold Coast tomorrow, meaning next weekend’s game at the Cbus Super Stadium can go ahead as originally planned.

Discussing the announcement, CEO Steve Mitchell said: “We’re thrilled that the team is coming home to the Coast.

“The NRL has today informed us that we can head back to Queensland and we are preparing to play in front of a big crowd at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday.

“We hope that a huge crowd will turn out to support the team against the Knights.”

The Titans are currently ninth in the NRL, having started the season with two wins and two defeats from their opening four matches.
