Gold Coast Titans stand-off Ash Taylor says that he is relishing the prospect of linking up with new signing and former team-mateTyrone Roberts in the halves for 2019.

Taylor played alongside NRL debutant AJ Brimson in 2018, but the youngster can also play at full-back.

The 24-year old formed a formidable partnership in 2016 and 2017 with Roberts, who has returned from Super League side Warrington Wolves after just one season.

The pair were instrumental in guiding the Titans to a play-off spot in 2016 and the Indigenous All-Star representative hopes that they can re-create their partnership.

When asked about who his ideal half-back partner would be for the upcoming season, he said: “I’d like to see Tyrone [Roberts]. He’s been a great mate of mine since he came up from Newcastle.

“He’s given me all his experience and I want to give it back to him. He’s really guiding the boys around well, but we’ll have to wait until round one and see who has been training the best.

“[AJ Brimson] is more dynamic at full-back and I think he can do a lot of damage from there. People have seen what he can do this year.”

Head Coach Garth Brennan will have lots of options when the Gold Coast Titans begin their 2018 season against Canberra Raiders on Sunday March 17.
