Gold Coast will be without skipper Ryan James for the rest of the campaign after he suffered a ruptured ACL in his right knee.

The 27-year-old, who has almost made 150 appearances for the Titans, will undergo surgery on the injury after leaving the field in Sunday’s win over Newcastle Knights.

James suffered an ACL injury to his left knee back in 2011 and he will now face six months on the sidelines.

Titans head of performance, Dan Ferris, commented: “Knowing Ryan like I do, he’ll do everything he possibly can to come back bigger and stronger.

“I know he’s hurting at the moment but we’ll get the surgery done and commence the rehab straight away.

“He had one on the other leg in 2011 and showed extreme dedication in rehabbing that and hasn’t had any injuries since.

“We feel for him at the moment but we know he’ll get back to his best.”
