Gold Coast 8-20 St George Illawarra: Titans downed by Dragons

St George Illawarra put in a solid display to beat Gold Coast 20-8 at Suncorp Stadium. 

Ash Taylor gave Gold Coast an early lead with a penalty goal but it was the Dragons who scored the game’s opening try through Zac Lomax in the 17th minute.

Mikaele Ravalawa extended St George Illawarra’s lead in the 26th minute, with Lomax adding the extras.

Lomax added a penalty goal just before the break to give Paul McGregor’s Dragons a 14-2 advantage at half-time.

The Dragons started the second half in good form, with Jordan Pereira crossing for a try. Lomax’s conversion made the score 20-2 after 48 minutes.

Justin Holbrook’s Titans fought their way back into the game and scored through Tanah Boyd late on. Taylor converted but it was the Dragons who finished 20-8 winners.
