Gold Coast opened up their season with a win over Newcastle 34-20 in sweltering conditions.

The Knights raced out to a commanding lead but a patient Titans outfit waited for their opponents to tire before striking with tries from Mat Rogers and Luke O’Dwyer. Further scores to Nathan Friend and William Zillman saw the Titans home worthy winners.
