Godwin swaps Bulls for Reds

Salford have signed experienced hooker Wayne Godwin from Bradford on a three-year deal.

Godwin, 28, found himself down the pecking order at Odsal following the arrival of Matt Diskin and joins the Reds amidst question marks over the future of Tevita Leo-Latu.

An ever-present with the Bulls last season, Godwin could make his Reds bow in Monday’s friendly against Leigh.

Godwin spent three seasons at Odsal having previously played for Castleford, Wigan and Hull.

Leo-Latu had agreed a contract with the Reds for next season but there have been complications with his work permit arrangements, and this may result in the deal being cancelled.

Next season is Salford’s final game at The Willows, before they move to a new stadium for 2012.
