Godwin and Gleeson out for Reds

Salford travel to St Helens for the first ever Super League game at the new Langtree Park Stadium with a patched up squad.

Phil Veivers side went down 24-10 in freezing conditions against Castleford last week, and his side picked up a number of knocks.

Wayne Godwin could be missing for two months with a rib injury, while Sean Gleeson is also definitely out of the Saints clash.

Six other players are also carrying knocks, according to Veivers, but the coach is hopeful that the Reds will be able to field a strong team by the time of the game, on Friday (8pm).

In that squad is new signing Stuart Howarth, who was forced off with concussion in the final quarter last weekend.

Reds 19-Man Squad: Patten, Broughton, Moon, Gibson, Williams, Holdsworth, Smith, Jewitt, Sidlow, James, Ashurst, McPherson, Wild, Nero, Adamson Anderson, Howarth, Palea’aesina, Gledhill
