Gilmour ready for Giants bow

Lee Gilmour is among four debutants for Huddersfield as they face Bradford on Friday.

Former St Helens and Bradford back-rower Gilmour made the move to the Galpharm Stadium after six trophy-laden seasons at Knowsley Road, and he is excited by the new challenge at the Giants.

He told the club’s official website: “When I decided to leave St Helens, I had to look at which was the best place to move to, and Huddersfield has a lot of things going for them, and I just had a feeling inside me that it was the right move to make.”

“If we all pull together, with the talent that we have got in the side, there is no reason why we are not capable of winning something. I hope that we can bring some silverware to the club over the next few years.”

He is joined in the squad for Friday’s game by fellow new signings Scott Grix, David Fa’alogo and Graeme Horne.

Gilmour added: “It is a local derby and both teams will be looking for the win and the signings they have made will mean they are a better side than last season. It will be an important two points for whoever wins to get them off the mark.”
