Gilmour joins Wakefield on loan

Wakefield have signed Lee Gilmour on a one-month loan deal from Castleford.

Gilmour, 36, has made 246 Super League appearances for Wigan, Bradford, St Helens, Huddersfield and the Tigers in a stellar career, and he provides cover in the pack and at centre.

The Wildcats are without Dean Collis, Reece Lyne, Jimmy Keinhorst and Ali Lauitiiti through injury, while Jacob Fairbank has completed his loan spell from Huddersfield.

Coach Richard Agar said: “We’re pleased to get Lee in at a time when we’ve picked up a number of injuries.

“He’s a player with a lot of big game experience and I know he’s bursting to play at the moment so will be an asset for us.”

Meanwhile, Agar has been dealt a further blow to his squad with the news that prop Chris Annakin has been banned for five matches for a dangerous throw on Roy Asotasi in last Sunday’s defeat to Warrington.
