The 22-year old will stay a Viking until the end of 2018 season.
“My plan has always been to stay at Widnes,” Gilmore said.
“My ambition is to become the first choice scrum-half here and be a part of the club as it moves forward in the future.
“I am enjoying my time at my home town club and look forward to developing my game over the next two years”
Denis Betts, Vikings Head Coach, said Gilmore has “huge potential to become a successful player here at Widnes”.
“He has developed as a player since he graduated into the first-team squad and has now become a role model for the younger players in the squad to look to for advice,” he said.
“I am excited for what the future holds for Tom”.
