Huddersfield Giants have extended the contract of form back rower Andy Raleigh for a further three seasons.

The 26 year old who was signed from Hull KR in 2005 has been was a big hit with Giants fans in his debut season last year and has continued his development this year cementing his place in the Giants back row.

Giants Head coach Jon Sharp said: “I am delighted that Andy has signed a new deal. He has adapted well to the full-time environment and has developed into a very good back-row forward. I think that there is more to come from Andy and I believe he has shown the ability and potential to go on and achieve representative honours”

Andy Raleigh said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have signed a deal like this, a two-year deal would have been great, but to get three is fantastic. It shows the club must have faith in me, and I’m determined to repay them for that.”

“When I was offered it, I obviously had no hesitation whatsoever in accepting it. It was tough for us all at the start of the season but, like the rest of the boys, I’m loving every minute of it at the moment. We are going really well and you can see how much this winning run has done for our confidence.”

“And now I’ve got my future sorted out I hope I can give even more to the side, starting against Bradford Bulls on Friday night. It’s another massive match for us, but none of us can wait for it.”
