Giants recover to see off the Dragons

Sam Rapira and Adam O’Brien scored late tries for Huddersfield as they recorded an 18-10 victory over Catalan on the second day of Magic Weekend.

Richie Myler put Dragons ahead in the first half, but an unconverted Lee Gaskell try and Martyn Ridyard’s penalty made it 6-6 at the break.

Iain Thornley restored a four point lead for Catalan, but the Giants would not be denied with Rapira (above) storming through to put them ahead before O’Brien rubber-stamped the victory.

Huddersfield are now two points behind eighth-placed Warrington, with Catalan sandwiched in between just a point ahead of the Giants after extending their winless run to five games.
