Huddersfield fullback Scott Grix could be out for the next three to five months while prop Eorl Crabtree may also face a spell on the sidelines.

Grix injured his shoulder in Friday night’s defeat to St Helens. According to reports, the fullback’s worst case scenario for a return to the field is three to five months.

Crabtree has also picked up an groin injury and may require surgery. The veteran front-rower could be out for the next four to six weeks.

It’s a terrible time for injuries for the Giants with Danny Brough, Joe Wardle, Craig Huby and Kyle Wood already unavailable.

Earlier this week Huddersfield utility Luke Robinson announced his retirement from rugby league.
