German international Keinhorst replaces injured Delaney

Keinhorst joined Leeds in 2011 after impressing whilst playing for Leeds Metropolitan University and Great Britain students and former Leeds player and coach Paul Fletcher spotted his potential.

Born in Leeds, Jimmy has scored 10 tries in 14 games for the Under 20s including a try in Saturday’s defeat to Wakefield. He comes into the squad for Brett Delaney, who has failed to recover 100% from the dislocated thumb he suffered last week against Bradford.

Keinhorst’s father, Wolfgang, is a lecturer at Leeds Met, where Jimmy is studied for a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. He has previously played for Heidelberger RL in Germany, who he won the 2010 German Bundesliga with, and the University of Queensland in Australia and in 2011 he played Rugby Union with Otley in the close season.

He has represented Germany RL as well as England Students, who he won the Home Nations Tournament with, and Great Britain Students, who he won the Academic Ashes with, and in 2010 played for the German Rugby Union side.

Earlier this season, he was drafted into the Rhinos squad at Hull FC but was not required on the day and has been 18th man on a number of occasions however he will make his debut at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium tonight. His squad number will be 32.
