George can’t wait for Friday

New Huddersfield signing Luke George will make his debut for the Giants in Friday’s friendly against Castleford, and he can’t wait.

George, 24, made the switch to the Galpharm Stadium from Wakefield in the close season, marking a return to the club having previously come through the Giants academy.

He told the club’s official website: “I really can’t wait to get out there against Castleford on Friday.  It’s a bit of a while since I played my last game and I ended last season with a bit of an injury so pre-season has gone really well.

“I think I speak for everyone when I say I’m looking forward to getting out there.”

George, who can play both on the wing and in the centres, is a hometown lad, and will line-up alongside fellow former Wakefield players Dale Ferguson, Danny Brough and Scott Grix for the Giants this season.

He added: “I think I’ve settled into the club well.  We all get on really well and a few of the lads are from Wakefield so I know what they’re about.  It’s been really good.  The coaching set-up and everything’s changed from what I’m used to and I’ve been learning a lot since I’ve been here.  I’m just hoping that the game on Friday will go really well for us.”
