Gentle calls for complete performance

Hull FC coach Peter Gentle put the 24-10 loss to Warrington Wolves down to not producing an 80 minute performance.

A flurry of second-half tries from Joel Monaghan (2), Chris Riley and Mickey Higham saw Warrington pull away after they had been held 6-4 by Hull FC for some time.

Gentle spoke to the Hull Daily Mail: “We have to get to the bottom of why these horrible periods keep appearing. After the 15-minute spell in the second half we got what we deserved. We have to start putting an 80 minute performance together because we are still only playing for 60 minutes.

“It is hard to see the positives at the minute because I am really disappointed. We showed in the first-half that we were capable of matching it with them and we were in control.”

The Airlie Birds had a similar spell in their away defeat at Leeds Rhinos on the opening fixture.

They travel to Widnes on Saturday for a game televised live on SKY.
