Bradford Bulls stand-off Lee Gaskell is very pleased to have picked up the Championship Player of the Year award, after enjoying a fine season with his club.

The 24-year-old received the award at the Kingstone Press Championship and League 1 Awards Dinner, which was held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

“Winning the award is a massive honour and I am delighted to have done so,” Gaskell told his club’s official website.

“But full credit must go to our fantastic forward pack, which has provided a platform for me to work from throughout the course of the year.

“These are exciting times for everyone involved at the Bulls and we are really looking forward to the next two games, as we look to make sure of, at least, a place in the Million Pound Game.

“I myself am hoping to get back out on the field very soon. This is now in our hands and we have a job to do.”
