Garry Lo signs for Carcassonne

Carcassonne have signed ex-Castleford winger Garry Lo for the 2019 season.

The French club have confirmed that they have signed the Papua New Guinea international for the start of the French Elite One Championship in 2019.

Lo joined Castleford Tigers on a two-year deal from Sheffield Eagles ahead of last season but made just one appearance for the Super League outfit before being released by the club in May.

He hadn’t featured for the Tigers since scoring on his debut against Wigan Warriors because he was ‘voluntarily assisting the police with an inquiry’.

The 24-year-old, who has scored four tries in five games for his country, requested to be released from his contract so he could focus on a ‘personal matter’.

Lo will link up with his new team-mates at Carcassonne when they begin pre-season training for the 2019 campaign.
