Castleford’s new recruit Gareth O’Brien says he is gaining a lot of confidence under Tigers coach Daryl Powell.
The 28-year-old has joined the Tigers on loan until the end of the 2020 season from Toronto Wolfpack.
O’Brien made his second Castleford debut in their 10-0 defeat to St Helens earlier this month, and he has been full of praise for his new coach Powell.
O’Brien said: “Daryl’s been great.
“To hear what he thought of me gives me a lot of confidence. I’m my own worst critic so I always think I can do better in a game.
“He’s been awesome helping me settle in and understand how he likes his team to play.
“The Saints game was a tough game, it had a semi-final or final intensity to it.
“Overall I was happy with how I went. I need to sharpen up a bit more with the ball but I’m sure that will come with a bit more time training with the boys.”
