Garbutt: Parcell will perform

Mitch Garbutt has tipped his new Leeds teammate Matt Parcell for big things in his debut season in Super League.

Parcell has joined the Rhinos from Manly. Garbutt played alongside the hooker at the Brisbane Broncos in 2015 and against him in the Queensland, and knows his talents well.

“He’s going to be a really good signing for us,” the prop told Love Rugby League.

“He’s fit in really well. He’s a good fella and I’ve known him a while, so I was excited when he was coming over.

“I played against Matty in the Queensland Cup but played Queensland Residents together, he’s got a lot of talent and were lucky to have him as part of the team.”

Garbutt joined Leeds midway through the 2015 season and was part of the club’s treble-winning side.

After the difficult 2016 campaign, the front-rower said he has seen a lot in his 18 months at the Rhinhos.

“I’ve got the experience, the best and worst,” he admitted.

“Obviously 2015 was a great year for us, 2016 was disappointing but we’ve put that behind us now and were looking forward to this year.

“We’ve had a really good pre-season and off the field I’m settled in really well my family. They enjoy it over here so it’s really comfortable.”

Garbutt is adamant Leeds can make the top four this season. While you’re waiting for the action to get underway, check out these casino barmy sites.

“I don’t see any reason why not, we’ve got a really talented squad and we’re confident of what we can do and we’ve really stuck in in pre-season,” he said.

“It’s been my best pre-season since I’ve been involved, a lot of the kids have improved a lot in that short period of time so they’re ready to step up too and theyv’e got the experience from last year.

“So there’s no reason why we can’t be there or thereabouts I don’t think.”
