Fresh injury blow for Jodie Broughton

Out of contract winger Jodie Broughton suffered a suspected medial collateral ligament knee injury in Catalans win at Huddersfield on Friday.

Broughton, 31, has only recently returned to a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and scored a hat-trick in last week’s win over Wakefield.

Coach Steve McNamara said: “Jodie has got a knee injury.

“It was a great catch in the corner but when he landed he felt his knee.

“The early indications are that Jodie has done his MCL. It’s not looking too good for him. His run of bad luck just seems to continue.”

The former Leeds winger has been at Catalans since 2016, but has only made 51 appearances in three and a half seasons.

He had been hoping to earn a new deal following his return to the side.
