Third division side Realmont sprung a surprise in the French Cup last weekend, defeating Elite 2 champions Baho 34-26. It’s the second upset caused by Realmont this season, having seen off another Elite 2 club in Carpentras in the last round.

That means there are just two non-Elite 1 clubs left in the competition – the other being VARL, who beat Lescure last week.

Albi eased past Toulon 46-0, though St Gaudens found it more difficult in defeating Salon 38-20.

Entraigues lost 36-14 to Palau while Limoux cruised past Ille 42-12.

St Esteve were boosted by four players from the Catalans Dragons squad, in the shape of Arthur Morgue, Arthur Romano, Gavin Marguerite and Paul Segueir, and they won easily in Villefranche, beating the Elite 2 league leaders 62-10.

After suffering a heavy loss at the hands of Lezignan last week, Carcassonne went close to gaining an immediate revenue, the scores locked at 24-all going in to the final minute, before Damien Cardace scored the decisive try for Lezignan to win.
