French forward signs on at Wire

Warrington Wolves have revealed that French back rower Benjamin Julien has inked a full-time deal at the club.

The 20-year-old, who can also play in the centres, joined Wire on trial earlier in the 2015 season.

He has impressed coaching staff, and also spent some productive time at North Wales Crusaders this season.

Part of the France squad for the 2014 European Championship, Julien has also spent time with Brisbane Broncos in Australia, and came through the ranks at Olympique Avignon.

“Benjamin is a really exciting young prospect who has already represented his country,” said Wolves head of coaching Tony Smith.

“He came as a trialist and has earned the respect of his fellow players and coaches.

“He has been on loan with North Wales Crusaders where he has picked up a number of man of the match awards.

“He is a versatile young player at home at centre or in the back row, and I really think he has developed enormously in the short time he has been here, enough so for us to recognise that he is a good prospect for the future.”
